Hawaii defensive coordinator Kevin Lempa is a candidate for a non-coaching analyst job with Michigan, according to Stephen Tsai of the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
Lempa met with Michigan this past weekend in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh lost defensive analyst Rick Finotti to a head coaching job at John Carroll University. He also will have to replace offensive analyst Jimmie Dougherty, who left to coach at Oregon, and offensive analyst Michael Switzer.
Lempa has a history with Michigan defensive coordinator Don Brown. Lempa worked for Brown at Boston College for three seasons and Maryland for two seasons.
Hawaii’s defense finished 112th nationally in the 2016 season. The Rainbow Warriors lost to Michigan in the season opener for the Wolverines, 63-3.
