Rome, Italy
Jim Harbaugh spoke with media prior to final practice in Rome. He confirmed in 2018 the team will travel abroad but no decision on the destination has been made yet. Back in February on National Signing Day, Jim Harbaugh announced Rome trip details and the first time hearing the idea of traveling abroad with several destinations being considered. Along with Rome, South Africa was potentially the 2018 site and he mentioned it again today before the public scrimmage at Stadio dei Marmi.
When asked today about future destinations and trip Harbaugh said, “We'd like to get to South Africa or possibly Rio. We'll get together as a team and decide. I'd really like to go to Cape Town and I'd really like to go to Johannesburg."
Jim Harbaugh also told the local media and others, including Kyle Rowland with the Toledo Blade, insight on his experience in Rome so far.

Along with all that this week has offered the team and family members there, it has also brought awareness to the locals about Michigan and college football. Jim Harbaugh wants more teams to consider trips like this in the future and embrace what it can offer. He added more of his thoughts shared by Kyle.

Who knows what this trip will start turn into down the road. Who knows, maybe we see a game in a place like Rome on the schedule in the near future.
