2019 Linebacker Jahmar Brown - out of national powerhouse Saint Thomas Aquinas, in Florida - got an offer from Michigan on May 24th. “It was really an honor to be offered by Michigan,” he said.

“Right now I don’t really have a top teams list, but I do plan on cutting my list down sometime, after my Junior season,” Brown told MnB. Brown has multiple offers which include: Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Georgia, Penn State.

“I like the tenacity that Michigan’s defense plays with, it’s pretty impressive, also their linebacker play is impressive,” he said. “I have a pretty good connection with Coach Brown, I really like his play calling, he’s a defensive genius.”

“Some things that will go into my decision will be - education, environment, and it has to have a family feel, that is very important.”

Some of the other schools Brown likes are: Miami, Georgia, and Penn State.

“All three of those schools stick out simply because the defense of these teams play so well, linebackers all play well, and these schools have a pipeline to the NFL.”

As many people know, the recruitment is a very stressful time, because there are many good schools, and Brown hit that right on the head.

“I find it so hard, to pick a school. There are so many good schools that produce, and schools that I could see myself at, so honestly it really will come down to visits.” Brown did tell MnB that he plans to visit this summer and the fall for a game.

Brown’s Sophomore campaign went well. Brown had 78 tackles, 2 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, and four sacks, in 8 games.

“I think I read pretty quick, and that comes from studying film a lot, I am a sideline to sideline player, I like to roam the field and go get the ball carrier.” But, “I need to work on my tackling, my footwork and coverage especially, I left a lot on the field in those areas.”

Brown is class of 2019 so a lot can happen, but Michigan seems to be in a good spot right now.
