3-star Brian Asamoah was offered by Michigan in October of last year. The 6-1, 210 pound outside linebacker out of Columbus, Ohio finished his first year as a linebacker this past year. “Not many people know, that I played running back, and this last year was my first at linebacker,” Asamoah told MnB.
Asamoah has already collected a ton of offers, ranging from Cincinnati, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pittsburgh, UCLA, UConn, West Virginia, to Wisconsin and others.
“I currently don't have a top list, but I'm going through the process of cutting down right now,” Asamoah told MnB. “I will also be releasing my visit schedule soon.”
“This offseason, I’ve really focused on perfecting my craft,” he added.
Asamoah brings a lot of athleticism to the defensive side of the ball, and could be a big difference maker for the Maize & Blue.
“I have a good relationship with Coach Brown and Zordich, their style of recruiting is amazing, they really do a good job making you feel at home,” Asamoah said. “I love the NFL experience Coach Harbaugh brings, he knows a lot about the game from talking to him, Michigan's coaching staff is top notch, I love the direction they're heading.”
“I had a blast on my (April 8) visit at Michigan, The Big House was amazing. I was able to see the amount of enthusiasm Coach Harbaugh brings to practice, Michigan plays a high level of football and the tradition is amazing.”
“The Business School is key, I also look at the culture and tradition of the program, I want to go somewhere that I can grow on and off the field,” he said. “As I mentioned earlier I don’t have a top teams list, I’m open to everyone right now, and I should have a list out soon.”
After his April 8 visit, he told Evan Petzold that “I don’t have a number one right now or I would be committed... but Michigan is definitely a top school of mine. I plan on coming back in the summer.”
