Wilton Speight makes Davey O’Brien Award Watch List

Speight makes the initial list that acknowledges the best quarterback in the country

Wilton Speight has not been named the starting quarterback for the 2017 Michigan Wolverines, but that isn’t stopping writers from putting him on a big watch list. Speight has made the cut for the Davey O’Brien Watch List, which goes to the best quarterback in the nation.

The list was chosen based on player performance last season and expectations for the 2017 season. Last year in his first season as a starter, Speight threw for 2,538 yards, 18 touchdowns and 7 interceptions, completing 61.6% of his passes.

Speight also made the Maxwell Award Watch List last week, which goes to the best player in the nation. Only 30 quarterbacks made the cut for the O’Brien Watch List. Check out the full list below:
