Saturday began with a commitment and ended with one as well, both for the class of 2019. First was offensive lineman Nolan Rumler, then it was time to land a recruit on the defensive side. Defensive End, five star recruit, Stephen Herron committed to Michigan.

The No. 34 overall recruit in the 2019 class, and No. 4 defensive end out of Louisville, Kentucky, is the third commitment Michigan now has for the 2019 class. ESPN gave Herron some positive comments such as Herron “Possesses good blend of height and bulk with continued physical upside. Inconsistent snap anticipation, but flashes good first-step. Can do a good job of shooting hands and using length to fight to keep blockers off his frame.” The 6-3 244 recruit is far from a polished product, but his potential is evident.
Michigan beat out Ohio State and Alabama, among 15 other schools. Commitments like this show that Michigan can compete with any school for the top prospects. Landing 5 star prospects can create a domino effect of other top prospects deciding to commit to Michigan.
