Michigan has already loaded up on a plethora of defensive backs in the 2018 class, but it is leaving at least one more spot open for a current Miami commit.
Josh Jobe, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound four-star cornerback from Miami (Columbus High School) has been committed to the Hurricanes since June of 2015. However, recent news could open up a chance for the Wolverines to get back into the race.
Jobe announced on Twitter Wednesday he is transferring to Chesire Academy in Connecticut for his senior year. The move comes after Jobe recently turned 19 and therefore became ineligible to play his senior season due to a Florida high school rule.

The No. 11 cornerback in the 2018 class and No. 72 player overall, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, has always been a fan of Michigan and Jim Harbaugh and said the move up north will allow him to get a better look at U-M.
"I've been talking to some of the coaches," Jobe told the Detroit Free Press. "(Former high school teammate and current Wolverine) Josh Uche is up there. He told me the coaches care about you and that you have to work there. You aren't going to be given anything. It's really competitive (at Michigan)."
Oddly enough, Chesire Academy was also the high school of Michigan freshman wide receiver Tarik Black — who could be in line for serious playing time this season.
Furthermore, Michigan Defensive Coordinator Don Brown has some serious prestige at the school as he recruited several players to Boston College during his time there and also assisted in Black’s recruitment.
Jobe is reported to be looking at Michigan and Alabama as possible landing destinations if he were to de-commit from the Hurricanes. Mgoblog’s Ace Anbender put in a Michigan crystal ball prediction for Jobe on Tuesday.
Being from Miami and a longtime commit, Harbaugh will have a tough task swaying him from Coral Gables, but Jobe would join an excellent secondary class with Myles Sims, German and Gemon Green and Sammy Faustin if he were to go blue.
