Michigan improves to 3-0

NCAA Football: Air Force at Michigan Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

The Michigan Wolverines improved to 3-0 on the season, beating the Air Force Falcons 29-13. The offense stalled time after time once they got into the red zone, and relied heavily on the leg of Quinn Nordin. The Wolverines defense was able to overcome fatigue brought on by the continuous triple-option attack of Air Force. In all, a win is a win. On to Purdue.

GAME RECAP

First Quarter

On Michigan’s opening drive of the game, they settle for a 35 yard Quinn Nordin field goal after consecutive incompletions by Wilton Speight. Michigan leads 3-0

After a Chris Evans fumble, Air Force puts together a pesky drive, rushing outside time after time. Michigan is able to make an admirable goal-line stand, and Falcons kicker Luke Strebel converts a 37 yard field goal attempt. Score is tied 3-3

Second Quarter

Michigan gets it into the red zone again, but cannot capitalize fully. Quinn Nordin drills a 26 yard field goal. Michigan leads 6-3

Michigan is able to get within ten yards of the end zone yet again, and once again cannot get a touchdown. Luckily for the Wolverines, Quinn Nordin is having a great day and makes a 29 yard field goal. Michigan leads 19-13

Fourth Quarter

Quinn Nordin keeps it rolling, making his fifth field goal of the day from 36 yards out. Michigan leads 22-13
