The 2017 NFL Draft featured plenty of Wolverines — 11 of them to be exact. Three of those 11 put up some stats for the first time this past Sunday.
One of those three is one of the best defensive backs in recent memory for Michigan: Jourdan Lewis.
Lewis was able to make his NFL debut against the Denver Broncos in Week 2, and it came with his first career interception.
Lewis didn’t have to do a whole lot to make his first interception, but it is the first of many for arguably one of the best cover men in Michigan football history.
Another Wolverine to reach a milestone this past Sunday was wide receiver Amara Darboh. The former Michigan receiver made his first reception in the NFL against the San Francisco 49ers for a gain of 16 yards. It was his only catch of the game, but it will probably be a reception he will never forget.
Taco Charlton, the first-round pick for the Dallas Cowboys and teammate of Lewis’, also recorded his first tackle on Sunday against the Denver Broncos. Charlton also created pressure on Broncos QB Trevor Siemian, making him throw the ball away on more than one occasion.
It’s only a matter of time before these things become a regularity for these Michigan men.
Other former Wolverines’ stats:
Jabrill Peppers (CLE): 5 tackles
Ryan Glasgow (CIN): 2 tackles
Ben Gedeon (MIN): 3 tackles
