As the deadline for announcing the October 7th slate of televised games approached, many thought this would be a night game - and that speculation turned out to be correct. This will be the first time the two teams play a night game at The Big House. Due to the new TV deal for B1G teams, games through the first weekend in November can be flexed to a primetime broadcast at the option of the TV networks.
If there is a second night game at home for Michigan this year, it will likely be Minnesota; as Rutgers has already been announced to be a Noon start and Warde Manuel has previously indicated his unwillingness to allow Ohio State to be a night game. The home game slate next year includes Penn State and Wisconsin, which are great primetime game options.
