Michigan Football Offer Roundup Part 2 (Week of January 15)

Part two of the offer roundup includes several in-state prospects the Wolverines seem to be interested in.

NCAA Football: Michigan at Maryland Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

As promised, here is part two of this week’s Michigan football offer roundup. Let’s start with a couple in-state recruits.

2019 Linebacker Marcel Lewis

Lewis hails from Clinton Township, Michigan and is listed at 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds. 247Sports has him listed as the 502nd ranked player and the 14th ranked inside linebacker in the 2019 class. There is no composite ranking available for Lewis at this time.

Lewis has been offered a scholarship from Penn State, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Illinois, Iowa State, Syracuse and several MAC schools.

2020 Safety Makari Paige

The 6-foot-3, 182-pound safety from West Bloomfield, Michigan is one of the most recent offers handed out by Michigan. Michigan is actually just the third school to offer a scholarship to Paige, with the first two being Kentucky and Indiana.

Paige unofficially visited Michigan State last September, but still does not have a scholarship offer from the Spartans.

2018 Kicker Jake Moody

Michigan extended an offer to Northville, Michigan native Jake Moody on Thursday. He doesn’t have a giant offer list, but it does include the Michigan State Spartans and the Central Michigan Chippewas.

2020 Running Back Jaylan Knighton

Another 2020 running back with a lot of impressive offers, Knighton has scholarships to play at Auburn, Alabama, Miami (FL), Ohio State, Oklahoma and more.

The Deerfield Beach, Florida native is listed at 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds.

2021 Linebacker Emile Aime

The 5-foot-10, 190-pound linebacker picked up an offer by Michigan on Thursday afternoon. Michigan is just the third school to offer the young linebacker, with Syracuse and Louisville being the other two schools. Aime hails from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

2019 Athlete Joe Ngata

Ngata was one of the first Californians offered this week by Harbaugh and his staff. The 6-foot-3, 180 pound athlete has offers to play at Oregon, USC, Clemson, Notre Dame, Florida State, Washington, Washington State, UCLA and Penn State, among others.

The four-star is listed as the 176th ranked overall prospect and the 15th ranked athlete in the 2019 class, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

2019 Athlete Trent McDuffie

Another Californian offered by the Wolverines this week, McDuffie is a three-star athlete from Anaheim.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect has offers from USC, Notre Dame, Washington, Colorado, Utah and Cal. He is the 477th ranked overall prospect and the 50th ranked athlete in the 2019 class, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

2019 Wide Receiver Kenyon Jackson

Like I said in Part 1 of this week’s offer roundup, Michigan has been recruiting the state of Georgia hard this week (well, over the last several years, but I digress). Another Georgia native offered by the Wolverines this week is four-star receiver Kenyon Jackson.

Jackson is a big receiver, listed at 6-foot-5, 200 pounds. He is the 277th ranked overall player and the 44th ranked wide receiver in his class, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

The Loganville, Georgia native already has offers from LSU, Florida State, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Clemson and other southern schools.

2019 Offensive Tackle Trente Jones

Another three-star prospect, as of now, who is getting tons of attention from the nation’s top football schools is Loganville, Georgia native Trente Jones.

Listed at 6-foot-6 and 282 pounds, Jones has offers from Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, Georgia, LSU, Miami (FL), Texas A&M, Tennessee and plenty of other great schools. According to 247Sports’ composite, he is ranked as the 357th overall recruit and the 39th ranked offensive tackle in the 2019 class, but that may change down the road.

2019 Offensive Tackle/Offensive Guard Ryan Jacoby

A native of Mentor, Ohio, Ryan Jacoby is rated a four-star offensive lineman by 247Sports. His offer sheet includes Ohio State, Oregon, West Virginia and Penn State, among others.

Jacoby is listed at 6-foot-5 and 270 pounds. Ohio State is the heavy early favorite to land Jacoby.

2019 Wide Receiver/Cornerback John Metchie

The last player on this week’s roundup list is 2019 WR/CB John Metchie.

Metchie is listed at 5-foot-11, 190 pounds and is a native of Hagerstown, Maryland. He isn’t ranked very high as of now (717th overall, 101 WR) but his offer sheet is pretty impressive — Notre Dame, Penn State, Ohio State, Tennessee, Mississippi State and more.

Penn State is the early favorite to land Metchie, but it is much too early to tell where Metchie will end up playing collegiate football at.

That’s it for this week’s offer roundup! Be sure to check back next week for more Michigan football scholarship offers.
