Jim Harbaugh and company received good news Sunday when three-star cornerback Vincent Gray committed to the Wolverines. They received more good news a few hours later when former Utah defensive back Casey Hughes said he would be transferring to Michigan for his last season of college football.

It didn’t take long for the Wolverines to receive even more good news.

Three-star athlete Michael Barrett announced his verbal pledge to Michigan on Twitter.

Barrett is listed at 5-foot-11-and-a-half and 215 pounds. He hails from Valdosta, Georgia, where he played his high school ball as a quarterback, running back, slot receiver and a return man on special teams. He even played on defense as a linebacker.

Barrett held other offers from LSU, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Michigan State, Tennessee, South Carolina and Nebraska, among others.

Michigan now has 21 players either enrolled, signed or verbally committed to its 2018 class. Including transfer quarterback Shea Patterson and Hughes, Michigan has added 23 players for its 2018 team. The Wolverines also have a shot to land transfer offensive lineman Calvin Anderson, who played at Rice his first four years of college.
