Rice grad transfer, offensive tackle Calvin Anderson will be visiting Ann Arbor this weekend in what will be an important step towards togetherness between he and the Michigan Wolverines program.
It isn’t the weekend yet, but that didn’t stop some good old fashioned fun competition to take place between Wolverines offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Tim Drevno and Anderson. Drevno visited Anderson and they shot golf balls at TopGolf.
What a blast shooting golf balls at @Topgolf with coach Drevno! @CoachDrev can’t believe he beat me. Looking forward to seeing Ann Arbor this weekend. pic.twitter.com/EZzHg1aByj

Maize ‘n’ Brew asked Anderson about the experience and he said it was awesome, he could see Drevno’s competitive nature. “He is as competitive as they come. From the start of the fun outing, he was itching to find out the way the game worked so he could strategize his way to win. I loved it, I’m the same way,” Anderson said.
For those who aren’t initiated in what has become quite the craze, TopGolf is basically the golf driving range of the future, at night each hole becomes illuminated in a different color, and the balls hit have microchip technology.
When asked how good of a golfer he is, Anderson joked “I’ve never been a great golfer, however, I love TopGolf because to be good you just have to have a decent drive.”
A good drive should be expected from the 6-5 300 lb lineman. Maybe, just maybe he will be driving defenders into the dirt wearing a Michigan jersey next season.
We’ll have an update for you after Anderson visits U-M this weekend.
