For the seventh consecutive year the Michigan basketball team has a player named to the preseason All-Big Ten team.
For the 2018-19 season, that player is Charles Matthews.

Matthews decided to return to college after testing the NBA Draft waters. He averaged 13 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in his first campaign with the Wolverines last year.
Matthews joins Carsen Edwards, Ethan Happ, James Palmer Jr., Jordan Murphy, Cassius Winston, Nick Ward, Anthony Cowan Jr., Juwan Morgan and Romeo Langford on the 10-player preseason All-Big Ten team.
Manny Harris (2008-10), Trey Burke (2012-13), Mitch McGary and Glenn Robinson (2013-14), Caris Levert (2014-16) Derrick Walton Jr. (2016-17) and Moritz Wagner (2017-18) were the other six players under John Beilein to make the preseason All-Big Ten team.
