With such a short time between now and National Signing Day, players de-committing at this juncture isn’t a common occurrence. But for 3-star quarterback Kevin Doyle, he has decided to de-commit from the University of Michigan.
Thank you Coach Hamilton and Coach Harbaugh for the opportunity. I am officially decommitted from the University of Michigan. I will be signing with a new school on Wednesday, Feb 7th.

While this de-commitment could eventually sting at a high degree if Doyle flourishes in college, and having as many quality quarterback on the roster as possible is ideal, the quarterback situation for Michigan could be quite solid in 2018 and beyond.
Michigan’s 2018 class features 4-star quarterback Joe Milton, who’s already enrolled at Michigan, and redshirt freshman Dylan McCaffrey will be competing to start the next four years. And there’s Ole Miss transfer Shea Patterson heavily in the fold too. And we can’t completely rule out Brandon Peters either.
With that said, Doyle was a Gatorade Player of the Year and the Washington Post Player of the Year.
It remains to be seen the reasoning as to why Doyle de-commited, and we’ll update you once we receive more information on the subject.
