Former Rice offensive tackle Calvin Anderson has been one of the most sought after transfers since he announced he would be leaving Rice back in January. Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan, and Auburn eventually made his final four, and today Anderson announced he will be playing for Texas next season.

This would have been a huge pickup for Michigan, as Anderson would have added a reliable and experienced option at tackle. Former Wolverines offensive coordinator/OL coach Tim Drevno recruited Anderson heavily before his resignation, meeting with Anderson multiple times in the span of a month. It is thought that Drevno’s departure may have harmed the Wolverines’ chances.
