The Michigan Wolverines basketball team will be a No. 3 seed in the West Region, taking on the Montana Grizzlies in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday.
While Michigan as a No. 3 seed makes sense, the overall theme among pundits is that they believe Michigan should have landed where Michigan State did, in the Midwest Region where they’ll play their first round game in Detroit.
We compiled some reactions from various people you may recognize.

Rich Eisen- NFL Network
So, @umichbball beats Michigan State twice in a row, pounds Purdue to win the Big Ten Tourney and both Michigan State and Purdue play in Detroit while Michigan plays in the West Bracket, starting in Kansas.

What a total load of crap. Let's #GoBlue
Sam Webb- The Michigan Insider
So much for the team sheet metrics. They mean nothing. Michigan State's resume doesn't equal Michigan's by any of the metrics the committee claimed it was going to pay attention to

Huge Show- CBS Sports Radio
Early look bracket is MSU was given a favorable 3 seed over Michigan. Find that interesting considering Wolverines blew them out twice.

Villanova over Virginia for the national championship.
Thomas Beindit- BT Powerhouse
Michigan shouldn’t have beaten more than two Tournament teams this year. Might have gotten to play in Detroit.

The last time North Carolina was a 2 seed and Michigan was a 3 seed in the same region, Michigan won it all #Destiny https://t.co/rW3JqgpjBh

Drew Hallett- Maize n Brew
Montana isn't the gimme that Michigan would want for the 14 seed, but I like how the rest of that region sets up for Michigan.

Nick Baumgardner- Detroit Free Press
General consensus from Michigan tonight: They would've liked to have had the chance to play in Detroit. But they really don't care.

Excited to be a No. 3.
