With a good performance at the NFL Scouting Combine, former Michigan Wolverines defensive lineman Maurice Hurst may have been a lock to be a top ten pick in the NFL Draft.
In a sad turn of events, Hurst will not be participating in drills at the combine, he has been diagnosed with a heart condition.
Michigan DT Maurice Hurst, projected as a potential first-round pick, was diagnosed today with a heart condition, league sources told ESPN. Hurst will not go through combine drills and will undergo further testing this week.

It remains to be seen how serious his condition is, but it’s serious enough for further tests to be done, and for Hurst to sit out one of the most important weekends of his life.
Hurst was named a consensus All-American in 2017, after amassing 59 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks.
