The Michigan Wolverines basketball team went to New York City and took a bite of the big apple, winning the Big Ten Championship at Madison Square Garden.
The lights weren’t too bright for the team, and because of that accomplishment, the most recognizable building in Manhattan, which was once the tallest skyscraper in the world, is honoring the team in a colorful manner.
The Empire State Building lit itself up in Maize and Blue.
Congratulations to @umichbball for taking the @B1GMBBall 2018 Championship!! We’ll be shining in their colors for the rest of the night to celebrate! #B1GChampions #B1GTourney pic.twitter.com/5caYZodCBI

The lights shining in the colors of Michigan at the Empire State Building is a nice cherry on top of what has been a memorable weekend for the Michigan basketball team, and their fans.
