Defensive tackle Denver Warren stepped onto Michigan’s campus this past weekend and has a new top school.
The 2020 recruit from Aurora, Illinois stands 6-foot-3 and 310 pounds and is currently a 3-star athlete, according to 247Sports. Warren holds offers from Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin and Michigan State, among several others.
Maize n Brew spoke with Warren about his visit.

By Warren’s account, it sounds like his first trip went as good as it could have.
“My first trip to Ann Arbor is amazing, I cannot believe my eyes and the things I’ve learned today about the university, much further than football. Most overall, what impressed me was the academic part of the program. Very, very impressed,” he said.
Warren has spent time with a few coaches on the staff and has enjoyed getting to know them all, but he’s spent the most time with Jim Harbaugh and Greg Mattison to this point.
He also commented about what the Michigan staff saw in him as a player.
“They said they love how I can change direction so quickly, how fast I am off the ball and my effort through the whole play,” he said.
Warren has time to take visits and see what fits him best since he’s about to be a junior this fall. He doesn’t have a timeline on his decision, but Michigan is “by far my No. 1 school to pick from right now.”
“Love, love, love the Wolverines,” he said.
