2019 5-star PG DJ Carton puts Michigan in his final 3 schools

Michigan has a great chance to land an elite 2019 prospect.

One of the elite prospects in the 2019 class just cut his list of potential schools down to three, and Wolverine fans have to be excited with this news.

5-star point guard DJ Carton’s final three include the Michigan Wolverines, Indiana Hoosiers and Ohio State Buckeyes. Carton made the news official on Twitter Sunday night.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder from Bettendorf, Iowa is the second-ranked point guard in his class, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

The Wolverines hosted Carton on an official visit June 28. He then officially visited Indiana June 30. It appears he will officially visit Ohio State, and perhaps other schools, after the July dead period, according to an interview with Carton’s mother on 247Sports ($).

Michigan owns every single relevant crystal ball selection as of Sunday night. There is one crystal ball for Wisconsin and one for Marquette, but those will be gone soon enough.

John Beilein has to like his chances with Carton. They have been recruiting him unlike any other prospect in this class, and Carton seems very comfortable with the Michigan staff and what the university has to offer. I don’t envision a decision being made soon, but I really like Michigan’s chances to land the elite point guard.
