The Michigan Wolverines’ basketball team received a commitment from a little known forward from Lyden, Washington in Cole Bajema.
The 6-foot-7, 175-pound forward has recently been ranked a 4-star and the 61st-ranked recruit in the class of 2019 by 247Sports, but prior to that, he was unranked by many sites.
Michigan beat out Washington, Washington State, Oregon State and Virginia for his commitment.
According to an article by MLive.com, Bajema said he grew up rooting for the University of Michigan and grew up in Grand Haven. He visited Ann Arbor in June and was eagerly awaiting an offer from John Beilein and his staff.
Now he joins Jalen Wilson as the second Michigan commit in an impressive start to the 2019 class. Both Wilson and Bajema are top 100 recruits according to 247sports, and both currently sit at a 4-star rating.
In the following post, Bajema calls his offer a “dream” and Michigan “the greatest university in the world.”
I think it is safe to say he will stay on course and make his commitment official in November during the early signing period.

For a 6-foot-7 guy, Bajema has great handles and is quick enough to get around many defenders on his way to the hoop. His long arms give him great extension in pull-up jumpers around the perimeter and he has the ability to make shots close to the basket from awkward angles.
Before Bejema gets up to Ann Arbor, he needs to put on a little more weight, but the rising star in the class of 2019 will be a heck of a weapon for the Wolverines in the future.
