Jim Harbaugh Monday Presser Recap
- “It was good to see (offensive linemen) Jalen Mayfield, James Hudson get in the game and do well.”
- “Jalen Mayfield, he’s really got everything you’re looking for. He’s just needs more time on task.”
- “Tru Wilson came in as a defensive back. He then went over to running back and climbed the depth chart. He got better and better in spring ball, and his vision got better in training camp and took coaching well”
- “The field goal unit, we’re 1 for 3, and that’s not the percentage we’d like to be.”
- “Well ahead of the curve.” “On the track of being an outstanding player (center Cesar Ruiz).”
- “He’s a very dedicated player (LB Noah Furbush), he’s got all the attributes of size and speed and he’s really smart. He’s got everything you’d want as a football player.”
- “Will Hart, over 50 on the net punt this week, outstanding.”
- “(kickoff specialist) Jake Moody, really happy about him.”
- “It was great, he (John Beilein) looks great. Had a chance to talk to him after the ball game.”
- “Very fired up for John. Hasn’t shown me his scar though!”
- “Everything is rehab and healing right now (for Tarik Black).”
- “Dylan (McCaffrey) had a good week of practice and stayed at the No. 2 quarterback this week.”
- “He’s (Shea Patterson) throwing very well on the run. We’d like to continue to do that. We have a lot of trust in Shea.”
- “It’s been good, he’s done a great job (wide receivers coach Jim McElwain). Really feel like our receivers are improving, ascending.”
- “Great to be around in the office. Really good football coach (McElwain). You’d have to ask him how much he’s enjoying it, but I’m enjoying him being on the staff”
- Great communicator (OL coach Ed Warinner), really good teacher. Seen a lot of football. Really experienced. Can really explain things really well. I enjoy his meetings. Talks so people can understand him. Very intense, very intense football coach.”
- Just feeling that the receivers are doing the things that receivers need to do. A. number one, create separation first. Create space. Create separation. Then catch the ball. Saw that out of Nico. Saw that out of Donovan. Grant. And doing it using an assortment of different routes.”
