The Michigan coaching staff is looking just about set for 2019 after a new hire was brought on board on Wednesday.
Per SunDevilSource, Arizona State defensive line coach Shaun Nua will be Michigan’s new defensive line coach. Nua will be replacing Greg Mattison, who left to become the co-defensive coordinator at Ohio State.
This is yet another relatively young hire for Michigan, who brought in defensive assistant Anthony Campanile and offensive coordinator Josh Gattis, both coaches are in their mid 30’s, and Nua is 37 years of age.
Nua coached the defensive line at Navy for six seasons before joining Herm Edwards’ ASU staff in 2018. A former NFL player for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Nua won a Super Bowl championship his rookie season.
