Charles Matthews is not playing for Michigan in its regular season home finale against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the team announced prior to the game. This will be the first time the Wolverines have been without him since the 2016-17 season and first time that the starting lineup has been altered all season long.
Isaiah Livers replaces him in the lineup.
Matthews suffered the injury against Michigan State on Sunday, but was able to return and play the rest of the game. Earlier this week, head coach John Beilein said the injury was a bit more serious than it looked.
Matthews was honored prior to the game as the team’s lone Senior, where he was in street clothes and in a walking boot.

The timetable for his return to the lineup is yet to be determined. He is averaging 12.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game this season.
