Johnson was a 4-star defensive end who just never saw his opportunity on the field in Ann Arbor. He was a valued member of the scout team, but he found himself buried in the depth chart behind Kwity Paye, Aiden Hutchinson, and Carlo Kemp.
The former top-300 prospect never recorded a tackle in his Michigan career, but he will find the opportunity to play for another school around the country if he so chooses. He has two years remaining of eligibility after he redshirted his freshman year at Michigan.
