Jaden Springer, one of the top guards in the 2020 basketball recruiting class, has been paying attention to what is going on at the University of Michigan under new head coach Juwan Howard. The five-star prospect has set an official visit to Ann Arbor for Aug. 29, according to a report from Jake Weingarden of Stockrisers.
Springer, who is ranked as the 13th-best player in the country and third-best shooting guard in the Class of 2020, recently inserted Michigan into his final five schools and cited Howard’s persistence as a reason why the Wolverines are now in the mix with North Carolina, Memphis, Tennessee and Florida.
“They’re one of the newer schools to reach out to me too,” Springer wrote in a blog on USA Today. “Coach Juwan Howard called me personally and told me that I’m a priority. That was big for me because a guy like Juwan definitely knows what it takes to have a long career in the NBA. That really stood out to me and that’s a school I’m high on.”
North Carolina is considered the presumptive favorite for his services with 100 percent of the Crystal Ball picks on 247Sports sending him to the Tar Heels. We will have to wait and see if Michigan is able to make any headway here as Howard sells the promise of a bright future for the men’s basketball team under his watch.
Here are some highlights that show off Springer’s game:
