Michigan Football announces Fresno State as opening opponent for 2024 season

The Wolverines and Bulldogs will meet for the first time ever in 2024.

The Michigan Wolverines football team will open the 2024 season at home against the Fresno State Bulldogs, according to a release from the school on Thursday afternoon. This will be the first ever meeting between the two squads and it will take place on Aug. 31, 2024 at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor.

With the addition of Fresno State, the Wolverines now have three open dates left with one game still to be determined. The 2024 season will feature two bye weeks again as 2019 did.

Here is a look at where the slate of games currently stands for 2024:
