With just two weeks left until Michigan kicks off at Minnesota, it remains vital for student-athletes and coaches to stay diligent in their efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Last week, there were only two positive tests out of the 1,173 conducted at the University of Michigan. There was a slight uptick in the latest batch of testing results, with 14 positive cases out of the 1,535 tests given.
Student-athlete tests for COVID-19, to date (all tests): 8,349
Positive Tests: 78
Staff member tests: 1,807
Positive tests: 12
Total tests administered (student-athletes, staff): 10,156
Positive tests: 90
Latest testing updates as of Oct. 9
Total individuals (student-athletes, staff) tested between Oct. 3-Oct. 9: 1,535
Positive test results between Oct. 3-Oct. 9: 14 (12 student-athletes, 2 staff members)
Note from U-M: The overall number of tests and positive results will not necessarily equal the sum of this week’s update plus the figures give in prior weeks’ updates. This is due to the number and timing of surveillance tests being conducted, and reflective of the fact that some test results lag behind others.
