With Michigan’s season-opener at Minnesota one week away, the university continues to provide information regarding the coronavirus testing results for all of their student-athletes and coaching staffs.
Last week at the University of Michigan, there were 14 positive tests out of the 1,535 conducted. There was a slight decrease in positive test results this week, with 11 positive cases out of the 1,559 total tests.
Student-athlete tests for COVID-19, to date (all tests): 9,574
Positive Tests: 92
Staff member tests: 2,315
Positive tests: 12
Total tests administered (student-athletes, staff): 11,889
Positive tests: 104
Latest testing updates as of Oct. 16
Total individuals (student-athletes, staff) tested between Oct. 10-16: 1,559
Positive test results between Oct. 10-16: 11 (all student-athletes)
Note from U-M: The overall number of tests and positive results will not necessarily equal the sum of this week’s update plus the figures give in prior weeks’ updates. This is due to the number and timing of surveillance tests being conducted, and reflective of the fact that some test results lag behind others.
