The Michigan Wolverines dropped a disappointing loss against the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, 2-3. It was the Wolverines first loss of the season, with a 4-1 record thus far in the ‘20-’21 campaign.
It was a story of turnovers and mistakes that got Notre Dame to an early 3-0 in the 2nd period, mistakes that turned out to be too costly against a stout defensive and veteran Irish squad. While Michigan did get goals from Luke Morgan in the 2nd period and Mike Pastujov in the 3rd, they couldn’t find that elusive 3rd goal to tie the game despite some solid scoring chances late in the game.
Michigan won the Corsi 59-43, but Notre Dame had plenty of quality chances regardless. The #5 ranked Wolverines have a shot on Saturday night (11/28) at 7PM Eastern to even the series against the Irish. We’ll get a chance to see what kind of adversity this young team will show coming off of the loss.
