Michigan Men’s Basketball falls out of top-25 despite 2-0 start

The Wolverines were in a closer-than-anticipated game on Sunday against Oakland.

The Michigan Wolverines are off to a 2-0 start this season, but a closer-than-expected result against the Oakland Golden Grizzlies on Sunday evening in Ann Arbor seems to have hurt them a bit this week in the AP top-25 poll.

Michigan slid outside of the poll this week despite starting the season as the 25th-ranked team in the country and wins over Bowling Green (96-82) and Oakland (81-71). They had the most votes of any team outside of the ranking, which has them now as the No. 26 team in college hoops.

The Big Ten as a whole has six teams in the top 25 with three of them in the top five (No. 3 Iowa, No. 4 Wisconsin, No. 5 Illinois) and four of them in the top eight (No. 8 Michigan State). Ohio State and Rutgers check in at No. 23 and No. 24, respectively.
