Maize n Brew’s NCAA Tournament 2020 simulation rolls along with the opening round of action on what is usually one of the greatest sporting days of the year. But all we have now is time and the internet, so we are putting both to use.

The simulations are being run via ncaagamesim.com by selecting the matchups and compiling them based on what happens with ONE CLICK of the mouse. This is the best way for us to simulate the chaos that could ensue during a single basketball game.

PREVIOUS RESULTS: First Four

Here are your results for Thursday’s game, which would have taken place in St. Louis, Tampa, Spokane and Albany.

Midwest Region

St. Louis: (12) Cincinnati 75, (5) Auburn 73

We love our upsets and we love our nail-biters. This one provides that and more and brings back the classic 12-5 upset.

St. Louis: (4) Wisconsin, 93, (13) Akron 55

Wisconsin stays hot and dismantles the best that the MAC has to offer this year.

St. Louis: (10) Oklahoma 73, (7) Illinois 53

Bad Illinois shows up and gets popped in a game that on paper is an upset, but probably is not that big of an upset.

St. Louis: (2) Creighton 68, (15) Arkansas Little-Rock 48

Creighton takes care of business as a two-seed should do. Side note: What a win for Michigan back in November.

East Region

Albany: (6) West Virginia 57, (11) Wichita State 51

A First Four win for Wichita State is all they walk out of March Madness with this year.

Albany: (3) Duke 72, (14) Hofstra 51

Duke is Duke. Next.

Tampa: (7) Virginia 67, (10) Indiana 57

Archie Miller gets his wish and gets his squad into the tournament, but runs into the defending national champs and their vaunted defense.

Tampa: (2) Villanova 74, (15) North Dakota State 56

Villanova looks like a team that can make some noise in this thing moving forward.

West Region

Spokane: (1) Gonzaga 93, (16) NC Central 58

The Zags play a home game essentially and dismantle another team out of the First Four.

Spokane: (9) USC 66, (8) St. Mary’s (CA) 53

The Trojans move on in our only 8-9 matchup of the Thursday slate of games.

Albany: (6) Penn State 74, (11) Utah State 65

Utah State gave Penn State a solid fight, but PSU prevails. Setting up a titanic showdown with...

Albany: (14) UC Irvine 75, (3) Michigan State 70

Oh no. One-click simulations can produce chaos sometimes. My jaw hit the floor when this happened. They done got Giddy Potts’d again. You truly hate to see it.

South Region

Spokane: (5) Butler 72, (12) Liberty 47

Sending the heartiest of “f*** you’s” to...you know what. We’ll just leave this one be.

Spokane: (4) Kentucky 80, (13) New Mexico State 62

Kentucky takes care of business and sets up a pretty damn interesting Saturday showdown with the Bulldogs.

Tampa: (10) Arizona State 78, (7) Houston 71

We have ourselves another 10-7 upset.

Tampa: (2) San Diego State 79, (15) Northern Kentucky 69

SDSU gets a bit of a scare, but pulls away late and advances to Saturday’s proceedings.

And here’s what your updated bracket looks like heading after Thursday’s batch of games in our NCAA Tournament simulation.

We’ll be back Friday to close out the first round and send the next 16 teams into the second round of 32.
