The recruiting board for the Michigan Wolverines’ 2021 basketball prospects continues to grow with head coach Juwan Howard’s staff handing out a pair of offers over Mother’s Day weekend.
We have a running offer board here on the site, which can always be accessed and bookmarked here. Let’s update the most recent names to be added to the list.
Five-star wing Harrison Ingram (Dallas, TX)
No. 17 player nationally | No. 6 small forward
Michigan is heavy after wing talent in the 2021 cycle and Howard continues to leave no stone unturned in his pursuit for elite talent with Ingram as the latest blue chip prospect offered. Ingram has actually been on campus before for a camp when John Beilein was still running the program, but he now has a formal offer from Howard and the new staff.
Here’s a scouting report on him from 247Sports’ Brian Snow:
A unique prospect with what many would describe as an “old man” type of game. Ingram is one of the most intelligent kids in the country both on the court and off of it. He has a 4.0 GPA and has a bright future in every aspect of life. On the court he is kind of a point forward who uses savvy, skill and intelligence to dominate games. Ingram can play on the ball or off of it, knows how to create space for himself by changing speeds, and is one of the better passers in the class. Also, despite not being a fantastic athlete, Ingram is a very solid rebounder, and competes on the defensive end. His elite IQ and skill make him one of the best prospects in the class, and someone who will exceed his physical tools as a player and producer.
As an elite wing, Ingram has offers from a laundry list of elite programs, but his 247 profile has six schools listed as “warm” in his recruitment — Stanford, Texas Tech, Arkansas, Memphis, North Carolina and Purdue. Both Crystal Ball picks currently have him heading to Stanford.
Unranked point guard Angelo Brizzi (Warrenton, VA)
Brizzi is not ranked by any of the major recruiting services, but received an offer from Michigan on Friday and it appears that assistant coach Phil Martelli is making a big play for his services, via The Michigan Insider ($). Martelli’s contact with Brizzi dates back to his time as the head coach at St. Joseph’s so there is a relationship there already.
Brizzi has offers from California, Columbia, Georgetown, Villanova, LSU and Marquette, to name a few.
