Juwan Howard and the Michigan Wolverines were included on the top seven list of 2021 five-star center Chet Holmgren on Friday night.

Michigan joined Minnesota, Ohio State, Gonzaga, North Carolina, Memphis and Georgetown on the top list.
Ranked as the No. 1 center and No. 3 overall player in the 2021 class, Holmgren stands 7-feet tall and weighs 190 pounds. The Minneapolis, Minnesota native received his offer from Michigan just two months ago, so to be put on his top seven list goes to show the work Howard and company have put into this recruitment in such a short amount of time.
To go along with Holmgren’s top seven, any top prospect would be foolish to leave out the NBA’s G League as a potential option for their first year out of high school. Holmgren mentioned to ZagsBlog.com while he hasn’t thought much about that route, it is still a possibility for him.
“It’s way too early to rule out any potential paths and I don’t know enough about the G League path to say no,” Holmgren said. “However, at this point in time, I am focused toward finding the best college for myself and my family’s future.”
Before the pandemic halted all sports, Holmgren was averaging 14.3 points, 9.9 rebounds and 4.9 blocks per game during his junior season.
Holmgren is one of Michigan’s top targets at center in 2021. Other centers with offers from Michigan include five-star Charles Bediako and five-star Efton Reid. Five-star Moussa Diabate, listed as a power forward, also could play some center at the next level.
Michigan has one player committed to its 2021 class — four-star wing Isaiah Barnes.
