Juwan Howard and Michigan basketball made the top five list for 2021 four-star shooting guard Matthew Cleveland on Monday night.

The 6-foot-6, 189-pounder from Alpharetta, Georgia also included Florida State, Kansas, Stanford and NC State in his top five.
Cleveland was offered by Michigan on May 2. Despite not having an offer from U-M at the time, Cleveland included the Wolverines in his top 16 list on April 15, so there is no doubt he definitely has strong interest in Juwan Howard and company.
Here is 247Sports’ Jerry Meyer’s scouting report on Cleveland:
“Good length for a wing scorer. An explosive athlete with top notch body control. Slasher who specializes in making tough shots. Can keep defense honest with long range shooting but needs to improve in that area. Handles well especially in half court. Not necessarily a playmaker for others. Great potential as a versatile defender. Top notch rebounder for his position.”
Cleveland is a borderline five-star talent, coming in at No. 24 overall on 247Sports’ composite ranking. However, 247Sports themselves ranks him as a five-star and the No. 15 overall player in his class.
The Wolverines currently have one commitment in the 2021 class — four-star wing Isaiah Barnes.
