The buzz surrounding Kobe Bufkin and the pursuit of him by the Michigan Wolverines picked up earlier this week and now it appears that a decision date has been set. The in-state guard from Grand Rapids has announced a final five to be selected from this coming Friday, July 10.
The schools in contention are Michigan, DePaul, LSU, Ohio State and Michigan State.

Bufkin is a four-star prospect and the No. 78 overall player in the 2021 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He also held offers from Michigan State, DePaul, Missouri, Northwestern and TCU, per his player profile on 247. A handful of 247Sports Crystal Balls emerged linking him to head coach Juwan Howard and the Wolverines on Monday morning with the going theory that a decision was likely coming soon.
For the Wolverines, Bufkin would be the third commitment of the 2021 class along with four-star wing Isaiah Barnes and three-star forward Will Tschetter. There are currently three scholarship spots open with more potentially on the way pending attrition and transfer decisions.
