The Michigan Wolverines filled their point guard slot for the 2021 class earlier this week with a commitment from Frankie Collins, but that apparently is not stopping them from drawing the attention of elite talent at the position.
Five-star point guard JD Davison, who is the No. 13 overall player in the class of 2021, released his final six schools on Thursday night where Michigan made the cut alongside Alabama, Auburn, Kansas, LSU and Memphis.

The interesting part of the equation here is that Davison does not currently hold a reported scholarship offer from Michigan and they were also not in consideration when he released his top ten schools awhile back.
The Wolverines seemingly are recruiting to have another two spots available in this class in addition to the four players already committed (Collins, Isaiah Barnes, Kobe Bufkin, Will Tschetter). One of those spots feels like it is saved for a center with Efton Reid being the top target. The other could be filled via taking a big swing at the five-star prospects still on the board (and there are plenty) or grabbing another grad transfer next spring.
We will have to wait and see if anything comes of a pursuit of Davison, but he at least is considering Michigan if he was willing to put them in his final six.
