With the fall semester in session at the University of Michigan, student-athletes are back on campus for all varsity sports.
The university conducted nearly a thousand coronavirus tests this past week, and the positive case threshold was very low.
Here’s a look at the numbers.
Student-athlete tests for COVID-19, to date (all tests): 3,064
Positive Tests: 42
Staff member tests: 474
Positive tests: 4
Total tests administered (student-athletes + coaches/ staff): 3,538
Positive tests: 46
Latest testing updates as of September 4
Total individuals (student-athletes + coaches/ staff) tested between August 29-Sept. 4: 940
Positive test results between August 29-Sept. 4: 4
Note from U-M: The overall number of tests and positive results will not necessarily equal the sum of this week’s update plus the figures give in prior weeks’ updates. This is due to the number and timing of surveillance tests being conducted, and reflective of the fact that some test results lag behind others.
