Makeup game added to Michigan’s schedule in return trip to Penn State

The rematch has been set.

The Michigan Wolverines were set to have a week off following Friday night’s game at Purdue, but that will no longer be the case. The program announced on Friday afternoon that it will take on Penn State on the road on Jan. 27 in the rescheduled date from Jan. 9.

Michigan and Penn State’s second matchup of the season was put on hold after the Nittany Lions had to pause due to COVID within the program. Both teams had a gap in the schedule to make the game happen and the rest is history. Penn State was originally set to play Wisconsin on Jan. 27 before shifting some other dates around.

The Wolverines beat the Nittany Lions in the first matchup of the season, a 62-58 victory at home. After Wednesday’s game, they will return home to take on Indiana on Saturday.

Here are the full changes as announced on Friday:

Wednesday, Jan. 27

Michigan at Penn State, 7 p.m. (B1G Network) rescheduled from Jan. 9

Wisconsin at Maryland, 9 p.m. (B1G Network) moved from Jan. 30

Saturday, Jan. 30

Wisconsin at Penn State, 3 p.m. (B1G Network) moved from Jan. 27

Penn State at Nebraska, postponed due to paused activities with the Cornhuskers
