This marks the third time in program history a Wolverine duo have earned the preseason honor, joining Juwan Howard and Jalen Rose (1993-94) and Mitch McGary and Glenn Robinson III (2013-14), per MGoBlue.com.
Houstan is the first ever Michigan freshman to be named to the team, and is the first freshman to be named to the team since Indiana’s Romeo Langford in 2018-19.
Earning honors as Big Ten Freshman of the Year and making the All-Big Ten first team last season, Dickinson led the Wolverines in both scoring (14.1 points per game and rebounding (7.4 boards per game), while leading Michigan to its 15th Big Ten Championship and fourth NCAA Elite Eight appearance in the past decade.
Dickinson also earned consensus All-America second-team honors last season and was recently named to the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award Watch List for top center in the nation.
Kofi Cockburn and Andre Curbelo (Illinois), Jaden Ivey and Trevion Williams (Purdue), E.J. Liddell (Ohio State), Trayce Jackson-Davis (Indiana), Keegan Murray (Iowa), Eric Ayala (Maryland) and Ron Harper Jr. (Rutgers) were also named to the team.
After an exhibition game against Wayne State on Friday, Nov. 5, the Michigan men’s basketball team kicks off their season Wednesday, Nov. 10, as they host Buffalo in a game broadcasted on the Big Ten Network.
