WATCH: Michigan Hockey Highlights vs. Arizona State

Breaking down the win and tie against the Sun Devils this past weekend.

The Michigan Wolverines continue their inconsistencies with a win and tie against a struggling Sun Devils squad. Michigan looked crisp in the first game of the series, picking up a 4-1 win where they looked dominant on both sides of the ice. Matty Beniers tallied his first hat trick, the first one on the year for the Wolverine squad, and honestly it looked easy against the Sun Devils.

The second game, however, didn’t go as planned. Despite vastly out-shooting Arizona State, where Michigan had the corsi in their favor 61-31. That’s one of the more ridiculously lopsided corsi figures I’ve seen this year, so it’s a shock Michigan wasn’t able to convert beyond the single goal from senior Jack Becker to even the score up 1-1. Give Arizona State goalie Cole Brady some credit, though, as he was the main reason the Sun Devils tied in this match-up.

The Wolverines head on the road to Minneapolis, where they’ll take on a hot Minnesota squad, who has won eight of their last 10. It’ll be the last series before the conference hockey tournament starts, and a nice ending could help get them into third place in the conference.
