Ever since taking over the head coaching job in Ann Arbor, Juwan Howard has seemingly been connected with the majority of the nation’s top recruits. One of his most recent offers was to 2022 PG Seth Trimble, the 13th-highest ranked point guard in the country and the 77th-overall prospect per the 247 Composite Rankings.
Trimble recently spoke with Stock Risers, revealing some interesting tidbits on both Michigan and his commitment timeline:
“Michigan has been on me heavily, I talk to Coach Martelli every morning. I really enjoy Coach Howard and his personality, I feel they’re a team who could fit my play style and I’m excited to get out to visit soon.”
“As of right now I’m aiming towards late summer possibly as a commitment date, I’m hoping to get all my visits done in June and some of July and maybe a commitment towards the end of summer.”
The Menomonee Falls, WI product is not the only guard Howard and Phil Martelli are considering, but he would be an excellent get for the Wolverines. While is becoming surprisingly commonplace for top-100 prospects to show interest in Michigan, none of these plyers should be overlooked.
There is not a ton of proven talent at the point guard position right now, and while Frankie Collins could turn into something special, it would certainly not hurt to add Trimble as well. The hope is that Devante Jones and Zeb Jackson can contribute at varying levels this season, but there is no saying what the room will look like going into next year.
The Crystal Balls are all in Michigan’s favor right now, and it seems like Trimble could be committing to the maize and blue in the upcoming months.
