The 6-foot-10, 230-pounder plays at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Florida. The in-person evaluation period began this past week for high school basketball players, and Howard was among the coaches in attendance for his performance in Alabama for the Adidas 3SSB with Southeast Elite Grassroots Academy.
In recent days, Udeh Jr. has also received offers from UCLA and Baylor, two other programs that just reached this past season’s Final Four and also saw him on an in-person evaluation. He previously held offers from Alabama, Creighton, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Miami, Tennessee, Texas Tech and more.
The center position is a pretty fluid one for the Wolverines in this class. Four-star top target Donovan Clingan recently came off the board after committing to UConn. Not long before Clingan’s commitment, Michigan sent an offer to four-star big man Kyle Filipowski. Four-star Tarris Reed is another top target at the center position for Michigan, as he recently officially visited Ann Arbor and may look to end his recruitment in the near future. Michigan also continues to recruit five-stars Jalen Duren and Dereck Lively, but not much is expected to happen there.
Michigan has one player committed in its 2022 class — four-star point guard Dug McDaniel.
Udeh Jr. is the No. 10 center, No. 13 player from Florida and No. 58 overall player in the 2022 class on 247Sports’ composite. You can check out some of his junior season highlights in the video below.
