How to listen to Maize n Brew Podcasts

What are they and how do we listen to them? Here’s a handy guide!

You can’t go anywhere these days without someone plugging their podcast. Every site has one. Every person seemingly has one. And that’s great because it gives hosts the ability to connect more directly with you and provide added value to your experience. Maize n Brew is no different.

Podcasts have become a medium that has not quite supplanted radio but is still a prominent part of media consumption. It allows you to get into your car, crank the volume up and listen to meaningful content tailored specifically to you.

If you’ve never listened to a podcast or are shaking your fist at the sky for some newfangled form of media, you are far from alone. You may think that you do not have the time for it, or that it is not a valuable use of your time. As someone who has consumed podcasts long before MnB jumped into the mix, I can tell you that it is something you don’t know you’re missing out on until you experience it yourself. I listen to plenty of shows that deal with sports, movies, music, interviews, history and more. There truly is a podcast for everyone.

One of my favorite things about podcasts is the community it helps build. If I send in a question to a show, it makes me feel like I’m a part of the experience if it’s read on the air. In the day of social media and connecting with others via the internet, the value it adds and the listening experience are the wonderful people it connects you with.

I listen in the car while working on articles for the site, doing chores, walking the dog, etc. Podcasts are one of my favorite forms of media consumption, but this might be a weird idea to you if you’ve never listened and do not know how to get started. We’ve got you covered there.

The first thing you need to do is find an application to listen from. Most people default to Apple Podcasts.

APPLE PODCASTS

If you have an iPhone, Apple Podcasts are built into your phone. If you’re on a computer, it’s an easy install (download here). It doesn’t offer the same robust features as other applications, but it’s easy to use and it’s free. You can also subscribe to your favorite shows for automatic download, limiting the work on your end.

Finding Maize n Brew on Apple Podcasts is as simple as typing it into the search bar. Once you select from the results, you’ll find the button to “Subscribe”. You’ll also notice a spot to leave a review, which we hope is a full-five stars with something incredibly kind to say to us! Congrats on taking your first step into deeper Michigan enlightenment.

GOOGLE PODCASTS

If you’re on Android, Google Podcasts comes already installed on newer phones. If you don’t have the latest Android phone, it’s easy to install (click here).

The rest of the process is simple: Search “Maize n Brew”, click on us, and you’ll get this screen. Click “Subscribe” and you’re in!

SPOTIFY

You might know Spotify as a music streaming service but it supports podcasts too. This is great if you still want to listen to music before and after your podcast of choice and don’t want to have to switch applications. Just like the others, the process is a couple of clicks and you’re on your way to enjoying MnB.

MEGAPHONE

There’s a trick about the media player we use in every podcast article. You can use it to subscribe from whichever application you’re using.

Here’s how the media player displays on a regular article:
