Tarris Reed, a four-star center/power forward and one of the most underrated prospects in the country, will make his college decision this Thursday. By all accounts, Reed has improved tremendously over the last few high school seasons and continues to rise the closer he gets to set foot on a college campus.
The Aug. 5 decision date was previously announced, but Reed made it official this week when he said that it will come at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday.

The Michigan Wolverines are far and away the leaders for his services with Michigan State, Ohio State and Purdue listed as the other “warm” teams on his 247Sports profile. Michigan leads with all Crystal Ball predictions in their favor.
Reed is currently the No. 71 overall player in the country and 14th-ranked center, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Our Kellen Voss looked at what Reed could bring to the table last month:
The lanky 6-foot-10 center runs the floor really well and gets great positioning in the post, sealing off defenders for thunderous dunks. Young big men typically have one go-to move in the post that college defenses can prepare for, but Reed Jr. already has a bag full of tricks with his back to the basket.
...
Reed Jr. can also catch in the high post or near the three-point line, facing up and ripping through his man to get to the basket and finish through contact.
He’s got great speed in the post while also being physically dominant. He reminds me of former Michigan State Spartan Xavier Tillman when he was in high school, as they both showcased a unique combination of size and foot speed down low.
Head coach Juwan Howard has a Midas touch with developing big men, so this would be another exciting addition to the 2022 class. Currently, it has one player committed in four-star point guard Dug McDaniel, but things should start picking up on that front soon. Jett Howard, son of Juwan, is a top-50 prospect and seems a near-lock to join the program sooner rather than later.
The Wolverines currently have two scholarship spots open for the 2022 class, but more will become available with players like Hunter Dickinson and DeVante’ Jones eyeing the NBA after next season.
