With Michigan Stadium set to return to full capacity for the 2021 season, the University of Michigan football program announced Wednesday afternoon the home game against Washington on Sept. 11 will be a “Maize Out.”
If you aren’t familiar with one of these things, all fans are encouraged to wear something maize-colored at the game. So if you are planning to go to this game and don’t want to be left out, throw on your favorite maize shirt, jersey or sweatshirt.
“Playing in front of a sold-out Big House is one of the most surreal feelings you can ever imagine as a player, especially when the game is under the lights in primetime,” senior linebacker and team captain Josh Ross said in a press release. “As we walk out the tunnel on Sept. 11, seeing our fans decked out in all maize for the Washington game, would make us excited like no other. We are ready to get the season up and running in the next week and can’t wait to see all of our fans cheering us on in the fall. Go Blue.”
If you don’t have any maize clothing, you can buy a brand new Michigan “Maize Out” tee at mden.com.
This game is scheduled to begin under the lights at 8 p.m. on ABC.
