Michigan didn’t win by a mile on Saturday afternoon against Rutgers, but they did just enough to prevail 20-13. Michigan now stands at 4-0 on the season and are moving up in both the USA Today Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25 Poll.

  • Michigan moves up to No. 14 in the AP Top 25 after being ranked No. 19 last week.
  • Michigan rose to No. 14 in the Coaches Poll as well after being ranked No. 19 previously.

Here is the AP Top 25

  1. Alabama
  2. Georgia
  3. Oregon
  4. Penn State
  5. Iowa
  6. Oklahoma
  7. Cincinnati
  8. Arkansas
  9. Notre Dame
  10. Florida
  11. Ohio State
  12. Ole Miss
  13. BYU
  14. Michigan
  15. Texas A&M
  16. Coastal Carolina
  17. Michigan State
  18. Fresno State
  19. Oklahoma State
  20. UCLA
  21. Baylor
  22. Auburn

  24. Wake Forest
  25. Clemson

Michigan currently has three opponents who are ranked in the AP Top 25 Poll — Michigan State (No. 17), Ohio State (No. 11), and Penn State (No. 4).

Michigan’s next opponent, Wisconsin, is no longer in the AP Top 25 after a 1-2 start to the season. Wisconsin lost to Notre Dame on 41-13 on Saturday, and will hope to turn that around against Michigan, a team that hasn’t won in Madison, Wisconsin since 2001. With a Michigan win over the Badgers they’ll be inching quite close to the top ten in both polls.
