I just want to give a shout out to WBB, who is ranked #9 in the country and played #25 OSU prior to the football semifinal yesterday.
And we utterly demolished that team down south. 90-71 and we could have run up the score more if wanted.
Naz Hillmon had her usual dominance in this series (though nothing close to her 50 she put up last year) with 29 pts and 15 boards.
But we had a 3-headed monster this game. Leigha Brown contributed 24 pts, 5 rebs, and 7 dimes. Kiser, who has taken part of the load off Hillmon in the paint this year, also had 15 rebounds to go along with 18 pts.
They took a strong lead in teh 1st quarter and never looked back. They were also helped by OSU foul trouble. 3 players for OSU fouled out in the game (!!!), including 2 starters, and 2 more starters had 4 fouls. Hillmon, of course, was a big cause of their foul trouble, since that's basically the only way they could try defending her. She got to the line 12 times and converted 11.
Also of note, Naz currently has the 4th most total points in Michigan WBB history and is on track to be the 4th ever to accumulate 2,000 career points. She would need 2,082 to reach 2nd place all-time (1st is out of reach at 2,776, but 2nd is doable if not too many games are canceled).
Congrats to Women's BB for a stellar season so far - it will get interesting as they enter the heart of the B1G schedule
