Michigan Basketball's roster took a bit of a blow today.
Junior guard Zak Irvin is expected to miss the next six-to-eight weeks after he undergoes a back procedure tomorrow at U-M Hospital, per a release from the school.
Head coach John Beilein's statement can be found below:
"We expect a 100 percent recovery for Zak after this procedure," said Beilein. "We will not rush his return, but given Zak's work habits and determined attitude we anticipate he will be back on the court and at full speed sometime near the beginning of our season."
Irvin was up and down last season, but averged 14.3 points per game and scored in double figures in 27 of the 32 games that the Wolverines played.
